Presenting the Cast of "Godspell" 2005

Stephan Clark Fay  (Jesus)

Stephan attends Good Heritage Academy.  He has been part of Royal Court for about three years, including a role as a Pharisee in the Royal Court 2003 Godspell production.  This time he takes the role of Jesus, which he feels honored and calls it “crazy, huh?”  Stephan’s hobbies include creating wrestling belts, writing poetry, and songs.  He said, “God has blessed this world with two great people.  Without them we could not do what the cast does.  Best act!!  Thank you, DeWayne and Patty, our producers/directors.”

CJ Johnson (Judas)

CJ repeats his role of Judas from the 2003 Royal Court Godspell production.  CJ graduated from Fulton High School and ITT Tech.  During his junior high years, he was selected for many roles; mostly lead roles in their productions.  He has also been in several skits in the church, the puppet ministry with his parents, and skits at Faith Fellowship Ministries.  He felt privileged to take “Forever His” to Stratford, Ont. for the past two years.  Watching them act with excellence has been a real inspiration to him.  He can see how God can be glorified through his performance.  He thanks his Dad, who taught him to do everything with integrity, and to his Mom who took his dreams seriously.  He said, “I have often dreamed of acting in a major production that would glorify God.”

Kenneth Coons (John)

Kenneth graduated from Good Heritage Academy 3rd in his class.  He is currently attending Westwood Online College majoring in Graphic Design and Animation.  Kenneth is returning in the role of John that he also played in the 2003 Royal Court production of Godspell.  He loves Role-Playing Games.  He said, I have thoroughly enjoyed working in ‘Godspell’ and would like to do another musical like this again.”

Michael Coons

Michael is a senior in Good Heritage Academy graduating Valedictorian.  He has performed in several K–WAM (Kids With A Mission, children’s ministry) plays and was also in the 2003 Royal Court production of Godspell.  His hobbies include hanging with friends and figuring out how things work.  He said, “The ‘Godspell’ musical rocks, and I’m glad to be in it.”

Reneé Coons

Reneé graduated Salutatorian from Good Heritage Academy.  She has acted in only a few minor productions, before joining the 2003 Godspell cast, a role she repeats.  As the daughter of directors and playwrights, she has spent much time around theater productions and has always dreamed of being in a major production.  She thanks the Lord for all He has done in her life and her parents for always encouraging her in everything she has done.  She said, “I am enjoying being able to be a part of a Christian acting group dedicated to reaching the community through the fine arts.  ‘Godspell’ has been a wonderful experience and I look forward in doing more like it.”

Brittany Simpson

Brittany attends Fenton Intermediate School.  At 12, she is the younger cast member.  She has appeared on stage before in a musical called “Joy Story”, a step up from playing a caterpillar in Kindergarten.  She is also an active part of a youth singing group called “Forever His” which performs in malls, nursing homes, and the historical Crossroad Village.  Her hobbies include singing, dancing, babysitting and scrapbooking.  Asked what she had to say about Godspell, she replied, “It is great.”

Chris Wise

Chris graduated from Central High School in 1999.  Godspell is his first time on stage.  He enjoys car repairs, sports, driving, mountain biking, card games, and online surfing.  He says, “I would encourage everyone to either join a theatrical group or attend a church.  They have enriched my life beyond my wildest dreams.”  Of Godspell, Chris said. “Being in Godspell has been a blessing.  It has helped me to understand the meaning of Jesus’ teaching.  Being in this play has helped me work on stage fright jitters too.”

Renee “Nay” Alger

Nay graduated from Linden High School and is currently attending Mott Community College.  She will be transferring, in the fall, to Michigan State University to major in Veterinary Medicine.  In high school during her sophomore year, she performed in the musical “The Music Man” and was one of the “pick-a-little” ladies.  In her senior year, she played Mrs. Greer in the musical “Annie.”  About Godspell she said, “I enjoyed working with the cast and hope to perform in many plays/musicals in the future.”

Anna LaRoy

Anna graduated from Fenton High School in 2000, and graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2004.  She will be attending Law School at MSU or Ave Maria beginning in the fall of 2005.  She performed with the Fenton High School Play Production Company twice in “An Evening with Santa,” “The World of Carl Sandburg”, and “The Wall.”  In Fenton High School’s productions, she performed in “I never saw another Butterfly,” The Dining Room,” and “Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat.”  Her hobbies include:  piano, reading, and Star Wars.  She would like to say, “Thanks for letting me be a part of this great group!  I’ve enjoyed getting to know all of you as we celebrate our Lord and Savior.”  About Godpsell she said, “Godspell tells the amazing story of Jesus Christ in an innovative and entertaining way.  It’s fantastic to be able to share this with so many and I hope it is able to touch the audience as much as it has already touched me.”
